Ketosis, or Ketogenic diet has been used to treat medical conditions since the 1920s. It was originally used to treat epilepsy and diabetes, along with a few other aliments. Since the medical word started drifting more towards the use of pharmacologists, diet as medicine faded away.
That is until now, due to the populations growing health awareness and the ugly image big Pharma created. People have taken an interest into dietary healing. Along with this new health awareness, the medical field has re-examined older data and conducted new studies.
Ketosis has mainly been grabbing the spot light as a quick way to loss weight, but thats not its only benefit. It turns out Ketosis can help improve everything from joint mobility to mental agility. A study from 2012 has discovered that dietary ketosis can improve memory as well as improve cognitive impairments.
This study has found that a very lo to no carbohydrate diet, even if just for a short term can be beneficial to mental health. An increase level of ketone’s directly correlates to improved memory. It’s important to consider the beneficial effects of this diet, as well as staying aware of products on the market that contain hidden toxins.
